Add Equation

Usually we set the variables in syntax

A = B”. In most of the programming language it means set the value of “A“ equal to value of “B”. We call it an Equation. Therefore any time you need to set a variable you must add an equation to the function source. Equation dialog has two text fields.

Variable: left side of the equation. (In the example above it indicates A)

Note 1: the variable name could not be same as preset variable in 3dMAX and Mathsurf and cannot start with the number and signs.

Note 2: you can set constant variable which has been defined in constant parameters inside the functions.

Expression: Right side of the equation. (In the example above it indicates B)

Note1: don’t place “=” behind the expression.

Note2: you can use global scope variable such as animation parameters and constant parameters in the expression.

When you add an equation in definition rollout it appears like a button labeled by the equation text. To edit existing equation simply click on its represented button, and to remove or replace use right click menu.
